Clear coat will go on tomorrow morning after Monaco. Not to bad for my first paint job if I do say so myself.
I’m attacking my door in the hope that I can fix a little rust without it looking like total garbage when I am done. This is quite stressful.

It’s a Mini, so there are racing stripes you could put on the lower doors and fenders should the paint not match well enough.
Something along the lines of this.

Just follow the directions on recoat times and such, and it will probably turn out okay. Wet sanding and buffing when it is all done and fully cured can fix a whole lot of imperfections.

My car already has Cooper stripes on the doors. I’m using them as a good was to keep the new paint separate from the old paint so the differences are less visible.

Its going pretty well so far. Just a couple of little splatters in the primer where it was pooling on my glove a little bit before blowing onto the door. I’m happy so far for a first paint job.
